" Marriage is like thighs. First they start off smooth, then gets a little bumpy, but without them, you don't have a leg to stand on." ~ Sylvia off The Nanny
OH MY GOSH!!!!! How true is this?!? It is by far the truth! When you first get married, it's so sweet, and everything just goes so smooth! It's really like a fantasy or even the beginnings of a Fairy Tale! Somewhere down the road, you hit some bumps and dips!! Some create little damage, as you keep on truckin', but then you have those that create major damage, and it takes a while to get the kinks worked back out! And through out it all, there are smooth parts of travel down the highway of marriage, but there is never a perfect marriage! It's not always smooth! And Gals, let me tell you, if anyone tells you it is always smooth and perfect, they are not being honest!! You really may have more smooth and good times, maybe even so smooth you forget most of the rough roads! But without the rough bumpy rides, the big dips, and the wonderful smooth ever so peaceful parts, it wouldn't be real! So on the days you are asking yourself why did you get married or even when did my husband turn into a jerk, don't feel like you are the ONLY one that says these things, and yet can say they really have a good marriage! Marriage is a job, and it takes a lot of work, hard work! And to be a good marriage, you have the have the smooth and rough roads!!! It really takes it all to make it all worth it, because if it was always smooth, you just wouldn't realize how good the smooth moments were! Be sure to enjoy all parts of your Marriage, yes including bumps and dips! They keep it real, teach us lessons, and help to steer us back to the smooth surface!!!
So true...As a mom of 4 kids,a wife of almost 23 yrs,and everything in between, chief cook ,bottle washer, chaefour, and all that ,that intails,I can truely attest to the fact that there alot of speed bumps along the way.But if it weren't for the speed bumps,it would be a pretty boring road, just straight and narrow.Although we are not always gonna like all the speed bumps I guess they do in the long run teach us something. We may not always see the leasons for a while but they are there. So as we go down the road of life, and hit the speed bumps just remember they are there for a reason, weather we like them or not.
